Its owner calls it the Bali equivalent of New York loft living. A bit of a hybrid, the home was originally the restaurant of the small resort that lies adjacent. The owner, René Wilhelm or Renato Guillermo de Pola as he is known in design circles, bought it in 2008 with a view to converting it into a studio; later he turned it into his own residence. All the furniture was built to the owner’s design by the studio of Stephane Sensey.
